Hey there!

This is my first time posting, so forgive me if I do something out of protocol. I’ve been having issues getting my edge controller to charge. I suspect a third-party wire that I used to charge it has messed something up.

At first, I thought it was the battery that was the problem. So I bought a new one and swapped it out. The controller properly read the battery and was able to function, but still won’t charge. I suspected maybe a bad C port might be the issue, but removing the analogue module seems to confirm a connection; hence, the flashing lights as shown in this clip:

Edge Controller no longer holds a charge

As of right now, I am out of options. I’m out of warranty and PlayStation does not seem to offer controller repair support services. If anyone has any ideas I could try, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for hearing me out!

Do other devices charge via the same port?
Is the cable genuine?
Check for dust or fluff in both ports.
Has the controller ever been connected to another (non Sony) device - say a PC?
Have you tried the pin hole reset?

Thanks for the response!

- other devices charge properly via the same cable
- the cable I’m using is the one that came with the controller (but I was charging it with a 3rd party cable before this issue)
- the port has been spray out with pressurized air
- I noticed that the controller will not connect to my pc either (like it’s not even being detected)
- the pin reset did not seem to fix the problem

I suspect the problem is with the controller port itself, but have no idea how to repair it.

Most likely it’ll have to be repaired either by Sony or a third party store which repairs consoles & controllers.
