Hey everyone, new here, and hope someone can help me with an issue that just cropped up after the latest update. I have 2 PS4 consoles that installed the latest update yesterday (Nov 10), and ever since that install, I can't keep a connection with my WiFi router. At first I thought it was the router, and even had an online chat with a Bell Fibe tech that helped me figure this out. Turns out, the router actually was failing, so I replaced it last night.

So, today, after I added a WiFi pod to boost my signal for the one PS4, I turned the console on, and the moment it connected to the internet, my router shut down. Once I again shut the console down, the router rebooted and my WiFi connection was back.

So, my question to you is, could there be something in the programming of the update that would affect the WiFi connection? I did manage to connect to the internet through my phone hot spot, but that eats data.

Thanks for any help.

If it’s connecting via your phone’s hotspot fine then it’s more likely to be a router setting.
Have you added the PS4s MAC address &/or IP address to the allow list?

I've never had an issue with my WiFi in the past with either console. They both connected and logged me into Playstation every time I turned it on. It's only been since the last update, which uploaded and installed yesterday. Right after the update was installed, and the console connected to the WiFi, the router went down. So I don't think the MAC address &/or IP address would make a difference, unless of course, the update changed something.

I was thinking the update changed something - perhaps changed the security of WiFi settings. 13.02 says it has implemented security fixes.

It's possible, I guess. I'm going to try again later, and try what you suggested earlier. I'll keep you posted.

Fingers crossed.
