PS4 Should my DS4 controller be making clicking sounds?

Is it normal for my DS4 controller to make clicking noises? This is a brand-new month old controller

My brand new DS4 controller is 3 weeks old, but it’s been making these weird clicking sounds from the start. Are these sounds normal? Some people said that I need to break it in, but I’ve been using it pretty regularly for the last 3 weeks. Is this an issue? How should I fix this issue if it is one? Thanks!

The right & left trigger (incl z l & z r) buttons will click when playing PS5 games. Any other buttons no.

@Anankha That makes sense. The analog triggers are making clicking sounds, so it’s good that’s good at least. I’ll just return this controller then since the sticks shouldn’t be having any issues. Thank you!

You’re welcome. If you’re pressing the analogue sticks then they may click but not if just moving them.

@Anankha, I do get that clicking sound when I press the analogue sticks. Not sure why I’m getting it when I just move them then, so it looks like it’s defective. Thanks!
