Hi all, I'm downloading a game right now and it's taking ages. It's a 60gb file and has been downloading for around 90 minutes already and it still has 30 minutes to go. There's no one else in the house so just keep using the network. It's connected to the router with an ethernet cable. I have superfast fibre internet at 300mbps (although the connection test I did on the PS4 said 200mps). This should have taken 40 minutes max to download. I've changed the DNS servers according to a video I watched and it helped slightly but still nowhere near as fast as it should be. I've done speed tests on other devices and the internet is fine. Help!

Is it a new game? Perhaps many are trying to download the same game so the serves are slow.
Is the account registered in the U.K. or are you using a different account?
Have you added the PS4’s IP & MAC address to the allow list under the router’s settings.

Hi. I have a dowload speed issue as well.
The 'test internet speed' option in the PS4 (slim) system settings menu says I have about 120 MBit download speed (WiFi).
But often I only get 1 MByte per every few seconds, especially during downloads that are bigger (10+ GByte).

When I pause the download and then resume immediately after, I get between 5-15 MByte per second for a short while.
Google AI answers that this is because the console is refreshing the connection with PS-servers after resuming.
But what causes this rapid decline in d/l speed every time, even when the speed test says 120MBit. I tested the speed many times and it's always above 100MBit. So PS servers should me able to give me at least a few megabytes per second constantly.

I tried 2.5Ghz download connection, 5Ghz and automatic but downloading itself doesn't improve.

Have you tried turning the router/modem off then on?
