PS2 Orange Laser Ribbon Wire Disconnected

Hello, looking for some help: the orange ribbon wire that connects to the laser disc reader on my PS2 has disconnected. I recently adjusted the laser potentiometer to get it to read a game and it worked! …until it didn’t. I opened up my ps2 to find that the ribbon wire was disconnected. The wire doesn’t appear to damaged at all, but the sticky part of the wire is now unsticking to the other sticky end of it. Do I need to replace the wire? or is the a way to reattach with another adhesive? I’m kinda clueless when it comes to tech so it’s a miracle I even fixed the CD reading level in the first place.
