Hi folks, My issue is I had nearly finished zero dawn, but due to external forces, (loss of job then flat) I lost all my games. Just recently I was able to obtain another copy and was looking forward to busting some machines.
I put the disc in, expecting to carry on where I left off only to find the game installing, yet I never uninstalled it. Basically I'm having to start all over, yet was on 67% completion with all of Frozen wilds done (game is complete edition), so what's going on?🤔

I can only think there’s been an update which has wiped your saves.
Is the game the same version - PS4-PS4/PS5-PS5?
Do you have PS+ which would have the save? If not then check to see if the game save is still on the PS4/PS5.

Hi Anankha, I have just updated to the latest version, but I don't think my saved data has changed in any way.
I had actually created a back up of the games I play the most just in case things go wrong as they did with a previous update that resulted in me having to do a complete reinstall via a massive file on a memory stick because the PS4 would not load/start properly. I had to begin 7 games from scratch including Horizon, hence the question now. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to access it on the PS4, it just wants to reformat it or ignore it. I know the file is there as it shows up and how much memory it's taken on my laptop. I don't play online as I only use my phone as a hot-spot to connect to Internet for updates.

PS it is the PS4 version

I've just found the answer to my own question. The saved data does not work with a different disc, even though it is the same game. Not quite sure why. it is the same game

Thanks for the update. That does sound strange especially as it’s the same game - I could expect that if the disk was for a different region though but afaik PS5 disks are region free.
