Gamen via 5g werkt niet

Wegens een vertraging in de bouw van mijn huis woon ik nu een aantal maanden op een vakantiepark. De wifi is zoals je kan voorstellen echt verschrikkelijk met 3mb/s.



Nu heb ik een unlimited abonnement bij KPN met voldoende snelheid 400mb/s en wou ik via mijn hotspot gamen. In het verleden heb ik dit ook al gedaan zonder problemen. Nu kan ik prima mijn ps5 connecten met mijn iPhone 16 pro via de hotspot en kan ik alles op de PlayStation doen zoals YouTube Netflix etc maar wanneer ik een game online wil spelen zoals Fifa en call of duty lukt het niet om met de online servers te verbinden. Ik heb al mijn internetinstellingen gereset maar het weigert te werken.

Ook heb ik mijn hotspot APN all proberen te zetten naar portalmmm.nl maar als ik dit doe kan ik helemaal geen verbinding meer maken met mijn PlayStation dan staat er “mislukt” met als details (kan geen IP-adres verkrijgen binnen de tijdslimiet)

iemand die hier een oplossing voor heeft of me kan helpen?

Now I have an unlimited subscription with KPN with sufficient speed 400mb/s and I wanted to play through my hotspot. In the past I have done this without any problems. As the connection works with YT etc it may be that KPN are blocking the connection. Some providers have a fair use policy which can prevent online gaming.

@Anankha, Hi Thank you for your response. I looked into it with KPN, and they do not have a fair use policy when it comes to online gaming. Do you happen to have any other ideas of what it could be?

On the phone check to see if the APN Protocol & APN Roaming Protocol is set to IPv4 & not IPv6.
If that doesn’t work then try this:
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names... Tap the existing entry to open it and screenshot or make a note of the settings.

Go back to the precious screen, Access Point Names... click ...Add and give it whatever name you want. Mimic the settings you took note of but change APN Protocol & APN Roaming Protocol to IPv4 Tap the 3 vertical dots at the top and hit save. Now select your newly created Access Point, your service should disconnect then reconnect.
Instructions on where to find this setting &/or how to change it may be different on your phone.

Does KPN have a forum or customer service? You could also ask on there as others may have had the same problem.
