Dual SHock controller wont charge and cannot press PS button to initilize

I have a new dual shock original PS4 Wireless controller. I have had it charging all night and the light is still orange. Tried various cables as well. With the press PS button to initlize the ps4 I press it and it does nothing. I have another controller though is an aftermarket one, not original and does the same.

Any ideas?

Are the cables charge & sync compatible?
Can you try charging via a PC USB port or via a USB charger?

No I ended up buying a cable, all good now thanks.

Sucks that Sony have gone Apple biz model and selling components separately.

Good to hear all is now working.
It’s disappointing certainly as I would expect a cable to be included with the DS4/DS5 at least as cables can fail.
