So my son decided to eat a sucker while he was using my controller so I took it apart to clean it. Everything went well until I tried using it after. Now the L1 button is super sensitive. Basically unusable now. When on the home screen, if I D pad right and even have my finger close to L1 it instantly goes all the way left. I have taken it apart several times and can not figure out what is causing it. Could I have damaged the ribbon cable?

I believe it is the thin plastic sheet that the buttons activate (don’t know what it’s called) is not sitting down flat on the controller so any little bit of pressure makes it think the button is being pressed. I don’t know how to make it sit flat. As far as I can tell it is in as good as it can be.
