What does everyone think about FF change?

First off, I started playing FF with X on the ps2. Because of the great memories I bought the FFX/X2 bundle for ps5 but quickly realize its not my type of game anymore.

Anyway whaht I wanted to ask is what do you guys think of the darker tone FF is going for? I played XVI and absolutely loved it. Now I'm on XV and it's ok I guess. Anyway my opinion is they should embrace the darker tones for future games. It just more fitting.

Yeah I'd like to see more of a darker tone.

It's interesting that you mention FFXV because actually it used to be called "FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII" and it was reeaally dark (was going to be even darker than XVI probably). I mean just look at this: . This trailer came out back in 2006 (yes, FFXV is that old). It was in development for like 10 years or so and even changed directors and stuff. The final product is dramatically different than what it was going to be originally.
