I am starting this thread because I believe it is very important that the PS5 (and PS4) community using PSN for online game play share their objective views on the current Code of Conduct and also how the moderation teams interpret and arbitrate on the Code of Conduct when it comes to player reports of potential breaches.
I think as a community we can give PlayStation good feedback to ensure this code works fairly to ensure the best gaming experience for all community wise and respectful players.

I will kick this thread off with a question for everyone around the current moderation practice of considering a player to have breached the code if they respond to another player committing a breach towards them (like ramming, or an offensive chat message). Do you think that a player should be mitigated from a breach if they are responding to a provoked personal attack to defend themselves?

Self-defence is an addmissable defence in nearly every single developed countries criminal law code across the planet (provided the self-defence is reasonable in light of the circumstances).
Currently the Code of Conduct does not allow this brevity and so if you respond to somebody calling you names - even though it is purely that provocation which triggers your response, you will be deemed to have breached the code of conduct.
What do people think?

I feel Sony could do better with certain aspects like refunds for games which don’t work - currently if you downloaded the game then no refund.
In the case of online abuse there’s a saying - two wrongs don’t make a right, retaliation isn’t the answer with bullies & Sony along with other companies take abuse seriously. Rather than reply with negative comments toward the abuse I would report the user immediately & await the outcome.
Abusing them back wouldn’t be self-defence.
