PS4 Issues with controllers

I've been having issues lately with my controllers for my PS4. Occasionally when they disconnect, they won't reconnect, even via USB cord. I do not believe it's the cord, since it still charges them. The only thing that seems to correct it is performing a manual restart by cutting power to the console. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar problem and could possibly guide me on how to resolve it.
