Hi PlayStation Team and fellow users,
I’m writing as a long-time PlayStation fan who really appreciates the Remote Play feature, it’s been an amazing way to stay connected to my PS5 while traveling.
That said, I’d like to request an improvement to the PC version of Remote Play:
Please consider adding support for Xbox-style controllers, especially those built into handheld Windows gaming devices, such as the ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, etc.
I fully understand and respect that the DualSense controller is central to the PlayStation ecosystem, and encouraging its use aligns with Sony’s business goals. However, many of us have chosen devices like the ROG Ally not just for gaming, but because they run Windows and double as portable work machines, meaning we don’t have to carry a separate laptop or controller.
At the moment, Remote Play doesn’t detect the built-in Xbox-style controls on these devices, which means we need to bring a DualSense to use it, even though the controller hardware is already there.
Adding native or even optional support for Xbox-style input would make Remote Play significantly more accessible and useful for a growing number of PC handheld users.
For what it’s worth, I’m also part of the PlayStation beta program and would be more than happy to help test such functionality, should it ever be considered.
Thanks for continuing to evolve the PlayStation experience, and for considering this request!
