Sony have disabled PS+ renewal due to the new service beginning in June.
The new tiers are the same - 1st tier is equal to PS +, tier 2 equals PS + & PS Now while the third will include these plus a selection of PS 1 & 2 games.
As the new PS subscriptions are due in June I suspect Sony are not allowing users to sign up for PS now or PS +. They may be allowing 3 month or 12 month subscriptions though.
Which phone are you using? Is the OS the latest version & is it supported for the app?
Is the PS4 up to date?
It may be that the problem is due to it being a child account.
If the sound does the same with headphones then it’s most likely the PS4. Quite possible GameStop has purchased a batch of faulty PS4s. Did they exchange the PS4 on the spot or ask you to call back after they’d tested the original PS5 you purchased?
